Highlights: 5K RunWalk Event being held to benefit a Shamokin Area Relay for Life Team. The race is being held on Saturday May 22 2010 on the campus of Shamokin Area High School. The race begins at 9:30 a.m. and early registration will start around 8:00 a.m. There are awards for the overall male female winners along with ribbons for the top three male female finishers in each of 10 age groups. We are hoping to attract at least 100 runners. The course itself is a little challenging as it involves some hills and wooded trails. We are planning to have water stations at mile posts 1 2 and a nice selection of refreshments at the finish line including water rehydration drinks cookies and bagels. There will also be drawings for door prizes were shooting for 20 door prizes. The entrance fee is a bargain at $15 for adults and $10 for students.
