Older females tend to have a higher rate of asthma as well as older people in general. Asthma can also be set off by allergens, and pollution. Asthma medications are hard to develop because no two people have the same level of asthma
We all know how to breathe. It's about as natural as.. well.. breathing air, but are you breathing correctly when running? Read the article to find out.
There are many reasons you may be running to lose weight. Here are a few...New Years Resolution, Baby Fat, Doctors Orders, I want to look nice in that bikini this summer, Ooh. if I could just fit into those jeans that make my butt look good again.
Those are all valid reasons to loose weight. All that extra weight is making you look.. well fat. More importantly it's bad for your health and well being.
So you want to loose some weight. Running is a great way to burn calories. If you don't know how it all works then let me break it down for you very simply. We eat food. We need about 2,500 a calories a day for men, and 2,000 calories a day for woman. Eating more than that and you the extra calories are stored for later as fat. Eat less than that and your body will use some of the energy your body has stored as fat. It's pretty simple if you look at it that way.
So running burns a lot of calories. How much is a lot? Well a man weighing 170lbs running 5 miles will burn 555 calories. OK the next logical questions is how many calories are in a pound. There are roughly 3500 calories in a pound. Without dieting and eating the normal number of calories you can loose about a pound a week like this. This is actually a healthy weight loss goal. Don't set unrealistic goals. You really need a 4 month to a year plan. Don't expect to look like Americas Next Top Model within a month. It just ain 't gonna happen. Well you can take supplements, run further, or eat less. It is your decision. We suggest you run further. If you want a supplement you can get a free sample of Acai Berry which we've actually tried and love by filling out a form on their web site. We saw them on an episode of Rachel Ray and my wife decided to get a bottle. It's really hard to tell how much it helped, but it helped. As for eating less it's a great idea, but I personally find that I eat more when running heavy. I somehow think it's ok for me to eat that, I just ran 8 miles i deserve it. A lot of the hardcore runners "carb up" before running. When you do that you are more than likely just burning the calories in the carbs you just ate. (brown rice, rice, pasta, cliff bars, etc.)
My final advice to you is to do a diet and exercise program like you've probably heard hundreds of times before. It will give you that extra calorie loss that will allow you to loose the weight quicker than by running itself.
A great diet plan is to cut back on calories and run. Make sure not to starve yourself however. Eating 500 calories less a day (1 Big Mac), and 5 miles of running daily (about 45 minutes) is all it takes to loose 2 pounds a week. Follow that plan for 4 months and you will loose 32 pounds.
